Three Lightroom Shortcut Keys That Cause Confusion
Lightroom is loaded with useful keyboard shortcuts. But sometimes keys get pressed by accident and strange things unexpectedly happen. Following is a list of the three keyboard shortcut problems I get called about the most.
T - The T key is used to hide/show the Toolbar that’s displayed below the main viewing area. Hiding the Toolbar is useful when you want a bit more viewing space, but when the T key is pressed inadvertently, the disapearance of the Toolbar can be disorienting. If you notice that your Toolbar has gone missing, simply press the T key to restore it.
F - The F key is used to go to full screen mode. It has three settings. Off, which is its default state, Full Screen with menus, and Full Screen without menus. Each time the F key is pressed it cycles through these three settings. This is the shortcut key problem I get called about the most. A Lightroom user accidentally presses the F key and then can find the buttons at the top of the display to close the program.
H - When using the Spot Removal tool in the Develop module the H key is used to hide the source and target circles so that it’s easier to view the image. When this key is unknowingly pressed, all of the spotting circles disapear, inclucing the current set of circles. To reveal them again, simply press the H key. (BTW - this key is also used to show/hide Local Adjustment pins when using the Adjustment Brush.)
