Working with RAW in Photoshop CS2 Take advantage of the highest quality your digital camera can create. Raw files contain a huge amount of image data - all that the camera's chip is capable of processing. This allows you to select the image information that was important to you when you clicked the shutter. If you let your camera make those choices when it creates a jpg you loose all of that extra information forever - it's like throwing away the negatives after you make prints.
Learn about the theory behind Raw and how shooting in Raw allows you to be more flexible and creative. Learn to use Photoshop CS2's Camera Raw Converter and Adobe Bridge to quickly make the highest quality conversions from your Raw files. Learn to automate the conversion of multiple files to streamline your workflow so that you spend your precious time doing the things you like to do. This three hour workshop will address the following topics: What is Raw and why do I need it? “The Digital Negative” Using Camera Raw in Photoshop CS2 Understanding the Raw Interface Converting multiple images at once Adobe Bridge - the next generation file browser Working with 16-bit files Using Adobe's new Image Processor and more...
This is a hand-on workshop so please bring a laptop with Photoshop CS2 installed on it. If you do not have a computer to bring, contact us about a rental. If you have not purchased CS2 you can download a trial version from Adobe that is good for 30 days. (It's a large file, so be sure you are using a broadband connection.)
