
Getting the Most from Your iPhone Camera (in-person class) – Sponsored by Oregon Society of Artists

$145Students will learn to get the most from their iPhone camera and begin using it as a “real” camera. By the end of the class students will be prepared to make informed decisions when using their iPhone cameras to make and share more polished images than they were making prior to the class.
The first part of the class will be lecture, followed by a short walkabout to explore what was learned in the lecture. The final part of the class will focus on editing and sharing.Topics include: Understanding how the various cameras/lenses work, how to get the most from Portrait setting and when to use it for non-portraits, using the Macro setting on the newer phones, when to consider third-party lenses and attachments, using a tripod with your phone, simple editing in the Apple Photos app, and how to effectively share your photos with others via email and/or social media.
This class is specific to various versions of the Apple iPhone and may not be the best fit for other smartphone users.
Mark Fitzgerald has been in the photography business for 45 years, helping photographers improve their art and craft. He taught at Newspace Center for Photography in Portland for 12 years and has also taught at Mt. Hood Community College and Portland Art Institute, Pro Photo Supply in Portland, and Glazer’s Camera in Seattle. He also offers educational presentations for many camera clubs and professional photo organizations as well as remote private training for a wide range of clients worldwide, helping them improve their editing skills and creative vision.
